You are so 100% right.

The libertarians and the Austrian economists are consigning themselves to the ash heap of ideologies/politics. They don't get it. 2025 is happening. New truths are emerging. The libertarians are left with the old ones. Their movement is dead.

You are not wrong. But, as with conservatives and liberals (little c, little l), there are good of each kind. The good and bad are separated by their strict allegiance to an ideology rather than a set of ideas.

I like and am comfortable with Mises Institute/Tom Woods style libertarians. But Reason ceased being relevant the second Obama left the stage to become sone sort of shitty puppeteer:).

Yes, Reason has gone off the rails and is verging on all-out TDS leftism.

But Mises himself was wrong about some things, and that is becoming apparent. At the very least, the decades subsequent to his life have proved that his ideas cannot succeed in displacing leftism/Keynesianism. In practical terms, Mises failed., and Keynes won We need new ideas that can succeed, IMHO. Perhaps some "uncomfortable" ones.

MMT and the current bureaucratic machine certainly make your point. I think Mises had value in accurately describing the bureaucracy and its inherent inventives.

I find wisdom in a Ludwig von Mises or a Thomas Sowell. The Enlightment Philosophy piece has taken a bigger hit for me. Adaptation is the key and you are correct about facing uncomfortable truths. I have faced quite a few of them over the last 30 years and am sure there are more to come. Appreciate the conversation. Cheers.
